How to find a financial advisor

Conventional investing is complicated, and socially responsible investing adds another layer on top. It can be confusing, but you don’t have to go it alone. You can find a financial advisor.

Green America has three options for finding a financial advisor who specializes in socially responsible investing.

  1. Our Fossil Free Products and Services guide lists two types of financial advisors:
  • Asset Management Firms that can help higher-net-worth individuals and institutional investors such as a house of worship, university, or pension plan with responsible investing.

2. Our Green Business Network lists dozens of GBN-certified Financial Advisors and Planners across the country who specialize in responsible investing.

3. Green America members now have free access to ValuesAdvisor, a searchable database of vetted financial advisors who specialize in values-aligned investing. Search for advisors at www.valuesadvisor.org/greenamerica. Use the code GREENAMERICA.

While you can learn a lot from educational materials and resources such as those on the Green America website, consulting with a financial planner knowledgeable about responsible investing can help you confirm you are on the right path with your own investments, both financially and socially.

Green America is not an investment adviser, nor do we provide financial planning, legal, or tax advice. Nothing in our communications or materials shall constitute or be construed as an offering of financial instruments or as investment advice or investment recommendations.
