AT&T announced that it will purchase 520 MW of power from two wind farms in Oklahoma and Texas. This takes AT&T's use of renewable energy from less than 2% to 20%! It's the equivalent of taking 350,595 passenger vehicles off the road or providing electricity for a quarter-million homes a year.
Green America's “Hang Up On Fossil Fuels” campaign has been calling on AT&T and Verizon to commit to 100% renewable energy by 2025. AT&T has not made a commitment to 100% renewable energy, but these two wind purchases are a significant step in the right direction for the company. Please help us keep the pressure on AT&T and Verizon until they reach 100% renewable energy.
