Alisa Gravitz, CEO of Green America, gives thanks to all the many Green Americans who make our important work to green the economy possible
On this Thanksgiving Day, as we all sit down with family and friends to celebrate good food, deep connections and life itself, I want to thank you for all you do for people and the planet.
Thank you for all the times you've brought your insights, your experience, your voice, your love and your courage to making the world a better place. Thank you for taking action with Green America all year long.
Together, we are powerful agents of change.
I am so grateful to have you by my side. This year, in these very challenging times, we are making the extraordinary happen.
You and I are protecting communities and the environment … getting the dirtiest corporations to make clean energy commitments. We’re advancing regenerative agriculture … the key to reversing climate change while rebuilding soil and watersheds and feeding the world.
We're protecting people ... taking toxins and sweatshop conditions out of electronics and clothing manufacturing so tens of millions of workers are safer. We're standing up to hate ... working with communities and businesses around the country to say #EveryoneIsWelcomeHere!
These victories -- are your victories. This is what we do together ... You are our partner in all of these successes and victories.
It's our economic activism that gets these results – the power of consumer pressure, green business innovation, and transforming whole industries – shifting a destructive economy to one that protects the environment, communities and human health.
I just returned from working with an amazing group of college students over this past weekend. They’ve been in anguish about what their generation could face. But when they saw what is possible, what we all can do together, they found renewed hope and energy for the work ahead.
In turn, the students, with their wisdom and their audacity, gave me a huge dose of inspiration and joy.
What a blessing it is to do this work. What a joy it is to be working with you.
Together, all of us, we are powerful.
Wishing you a holiday season full of light, joy and renewed energy for all the life-affirming work ahead.
p.s. Get lots of holiday love from all sources. Here's me enjoying one of my favorite ways to renew and recharge -- baby goat kisses!
